Jay-Z: We Are The World is UNTOUCHABLE..

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

A lot of mixed reviews came when the We Are The World Haiti was aired during the opening ceremonies at the Winter Olympics, some liked the song, some didn’t like it, and some just thought the old song should have stayed untouched, and a new song should have been written, if you listen to what Jay-Z thinks, you might agree with him, because honestly, the original is much better.. He said:

“I know everybody is gonna take this wrong: ‘We Are the World,’ I love it, and I understand the point and think it’s great. But I think ‘We Are the World’ is like [Michael Jackson's] ‘Thriller’ to me. I don’t ever wanna see it touched.

I’m a fan of music. I know the plight and everything that’s going on in Haiti. I applaud the efforts: [Millions have been raised] through text [donations] to Haiti. So I appreciate the efforts and everything, but ‘We Are The World’ is [musically] untouchable like ‘Thriller’ is untouchable. Some things are just untouchable. It was a valiant effort, but for me, it’s gonna be untouchable.”

50 cent talking B.S about Jay-Z

Sunday, February 7th, 2010

I might be the last person on earth that can give an opinion about any rapper, well because i’ve never listened to any of them. Rap music gives me a terrible headache, well if they put a rap song at a club yeah i love the beat, but i can’t imagine myself  listening to rap music while driving in my car.. But that doesn’t mean that i can’t recognize when a rapper is talking B.S and non-sense.. Jay-Z is a decent rapper, he’s talented and no one can deny that.. 50 cent is famous, he has like an army of fans, and he used to work a lot, didn’t hear anything about him lately though.. Well 50 cent is well known for his big mouth, he just doesn’t know how to shut up, well when he talks about bad artists i understand, but Jay-Z?? c’mon man you can do better than that… 50 said:

“Jay-Z’s not smart enough to be afraid of me. We’re big rivals. If it ever came to an actual altercation he’d know what it’s like to be afraid.”

And you’re the smart one ???

The Books on Jay Z’s shelf…

Jayz

Jay Z provided O,The Oprah Magazine with a list of his favorite books, the books that made a difference in his life:

1. The Seat of the Soul
By Gary Zukav

There are two books that I absolutely live my life by. This is one of them. Growing up, I was always curious about religion. This book made the most sense to me; it’s about the way you live your life. I believe in karma and doing the right thing even if it may not advance you as far as you want. If every single person felt the same way about karma and intention, then the world gets fixed tomorrow. But temptation gets in the way. Zukav is right: It may take lifetimes to learn.

2. The Celestine Prophecy
By James Redfield

This is the other book I live by. It’s fiction—a guy travels to find a secret book that has a series of principles. The story is a metaphor for life: I could go left or right, I could be stuck, or I could keep advancing. Some people are happy where they are. I tried to hire a guy once, and I said, “Don’t you have ambition to be bigger?” And he said, “No, I’m good.” I had to respect that, but for me that was the wrong relationship.

3. The Odyssey
By Homer

This epic poem was kind of difficult for me to get through, but it has a beautiful rhythm. I got lost in reading about Odysseus’ struggle to get home and his longing for someone so strong, as his wife was, waiting for him. That’s like a dream—that kind of strength, love, loyalty.

4. Outliers
By Malcolm Gladwell

This book is about the principles of timing and repetition—about preparing yourself for luck, really. He talks about a hockey team, and how the players born in January had a year up on the guys born in December. They were fortunate that their birthday was early, but they also practiced—they put the work in. The book resonated with me because I was born at a time when there was an influx of incredible music into the culture, and I was lucky that my mom and pop were huge record collectors. In my house, I had music by Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Prince, and the Commodores, and I’m listening to it every single day.

5. Purple Cow
By Seth Godin

This is straight marketing advice: Your product has to be a purple cow—it has to be distinct to have any success. You have to be clear on your product: What are you? What are you putting out there? For years I never did an ad for [my company] Rocawear, because I cared more about the quality than the face in front. I hadn’t read this book back then, but when someone puts words to feelings you have, it’s like, “Wow, that’s exactly what it is.”

6. Nigger
By Dick Gregory

I don’t know who turned me on to this autobiography, but his sense of humor and the hardships he went through stayed with me—especially the scene where he started running home from school. It led to his joining thetrack team, which led to a scholarship to college. Running opened up a whole world for him.

Jay Z talkes about Lil Mama

Lil-Mama-Jay-Z-and-Alicia-Keys

Jay Z finally talked about what Lil Mama did at the 2009 MTV VMA when she interrupted his performance with Alicia Keys, he said:

“I would never do that. I would never have the nerve to do that. We go to rehearsals, we do run-throughs, and we work really hard on the performance to put on a show for people. And to interrupt that moment for us, I don’t think that was the right thing to do.

I actually thought it was the equivalent of what Kanye did to Taylor Swift but nobody really talked about that because I’m not a lil sweet girl from middle America.”

“I’m cool with her being excited and all that, but you also have to understand people put in work to make that performance happen–the planning of it, there’s a lot of planning that went into that performance. To disrupt that is out of line.”

“I was a little angry–but what imma do, fight Lil Mama?”

He’s right, what she did is exactly like what Kanye did, i mean they work really hard to make this happen. Some people just don’t think…

Lil Mama Jay Z and Alicia Keys

If you are not famous enough and you want attention in any way possible, Just do exactly like Lil Mama and Kanye Jerk in an event like the MTV VMA..

Lil Mama(Who sings about her Lip gloss or something like that) Crashed Jay-Z And Alicia Keys’ Performance at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards for no reason at all. She just made a fool out of her self. Jay and Alicia didn’t even look at the little crazy rapper or whatever you wanna call her. Later she told MTV :

“I did not mean any disrespect towards Jay-Z or Alicia Keys. I admire them and look up to them as role models. ‘Empire State of Mind’ had my emotions running high. In that moment I came up onstage to celebrate my two icons singing about NY.”
